Aim of the Initiative
Creating a simple, accessible medium for bereaved brothers and sisters to perpetuate their siblings’ memory and lay bare their unique language and different perspectives of memory to all of Israeli and Jewish society.
Description of the Initiative
~There are people who, even when no longer living, have an unfinished story; it continues to be written by others~ From the book of memoirs written in memory of Rina Shnerb. The Message to My Brother initiative is a collaboration between Our Brothers and The Zalman Shazar Center and its Discover Treasures project. This is an invitation to bereaved brothers and sisters to write a personal message to and about their fallen sibling. We will use the compilation of texts to create a new database containing vignettes of memory to relay your special voice to the whole of Israeli society.
